Jubilee 2025
The Church celebrates the Jubilee from Christmas Eve (24th of December) 2024 to Epiphany (6th of January) 2026. During this time of Grace, the faithful are offered many more opportunities to reconcile themselves with God, with the Church, with others and with themselves, also through sacramental confession and indulgence.
The one you are in now is one of the six Jubilee churches of the Diocese of San Miniato in which, from December 29, 2024 to December 28, 2025, it is possible to access the indulgence.
The indulgence, through the intercession of the Church and the will of the Pontiff, obtains a restoration of the perfect unity of a soul with God, the Blessed Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and an expiation of the deserved punishment, reinvigorating the graft into the Divine Life given by Baptism but worn out by the subsequent sin deliberately committed. You can ask for this Grace for yourself or for a soul in Purgatory.
SPES NON CONFUNDIT. “Hope does not disappoint” (Rom 5:5). In the spirit of hope, the Apostle Paul addressed these words of encouragement to the Christian community of Rome. Hope is also the central message of the coming Jubilee that, in accordance with an ancient tradition, the Pope proclaims every twenty-five years. My thoughts turn to all those pilgrims of hope who will travel to Rome in order to experience the Holy Year and to all those others who, though unable to visit the City of the Apostles Peter and Paul, will celebrate it in their local Churches. For everyone, may the Jubilee be a moment of genuine, personal encounter with the Lord Jesus, the “door” (cf. Jn 10:7.9) of our salvation, whom the Church is charged to proclaim always, everywhere and to all as “our hope” (1 Tim 1:1).

HOLY YEAR 2025
A TIME OF GRACE, FORGIVENESS AND RECONCILIATION
THIS IS A JUBILEE CHURCH
Pope Francis has declared a Jubilee Holy Year from Christmas Eve (December 24) 2024 to Epiphany (January 6) 2026. The one you are in now is one of the six Jubilee churches of the Diocese of San Miniato where, from December 29, 2024 to December 28, 2025, it is possible to access the indulgence.
WHAT IS INDULGENCE?
- An indulgence is a restoration of perfect unity with God and an expiation of the punishment deserved due to the sin deliberately committed.
- It is a grace that you can ask for yourself or for a soul in Purgatory.
- It is part of that exchange of spiritual gifts that is the Communion of Saints, whereby the good of one - starting with Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the Saints - benefits the salvation of all.
CONDITIONS FOR OBTAINING IT
- Ask God for forgiveness with all your heart for the evil you have done and actively commit yourself to remedying it.
- Ask for the Grace of authentic detachment from sins, even venial ones.
- Perform an indulgenced work, for example come on a pilgrimage or devoutly visit this church.
- Confess to a priest, even a few days before or after performing the indulgenced work.
- On the day you perform the work, attend Holy Mass and take Communion. Then pray for the Pope, for example with Our Father and Hail Mary.
PILGRIMAGE OR VISIT TO THIS CHURCH
PILGRIMAGE - Start from a sufficiently distant place and come on foot, alone or with others, praying along the way.
Once you arrive at the church, devoutly participate in a community celebration (Holy Mass, Liturgy of the Word or the Hours, Penitential Liturgy with confessions, Via Crucis, recitation of the Holy Rosary or the hymn “Akathistos”).
VISIT - Come to this church and stop in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, if possible kneeling.
In praying, present your life, your labors and miseries to God, and ask to be looked upon and healed by Him.
Conclude your visit with the prayer of the Our Father, the recitation of the Creed and an invocation to the Blessed Virgin Mary such as the Hail Mary.
